Runnin' Down a Dream.

This isn't a great picture, but I took it on October 15th, 2016 about 10 minutes before I met Senator John McCain. I was fortunate to have about 10 minutes with the Senator and began the conversation by telling him my story of being mistaken for his secret service protection during his last campaign stop before the election in 2008 at the Indianapolis Airport. I explained that I was there to assist the local Republican party with the operations and my suit and sunglasses were an exact match for all of his 'real' secret service protection. It was quite an event. I remember that he told me "I appreciate your service" and I didn't know what to say. What do you say to someone who is thanking YOU, but it's HE who has giving everything? He spent most of our time together telling me of his excitement for the work that we Americans could do together after an election victory. So much pent up demand for action from this world leader who had been held back for so long. He was an optimist first and foremost. But, undoubtedly he was a realist. A hero. A patriot. An American. The world is a bit colder without John McCain in it. Thank YOU for your service. A service that is near impossible to match.
